Covid -19

It is with great excitement that we begin to prepare for Hooptown Summer 2021. As we look ahead, we recognize there are many questions surrounding how camps and clinics alike will operate with the COVID-19 pandemic.
State and town restrictions are constantly evolving and each day we receive new information and recommendations on how to safely operate our businesses, while keeping campers and staff safe. As we will follow all current public health guidelines, we will be taking the following steps to keep everyone safe and healthy:

Mask Wearing:
Campers and staff will be required to wear a mask at all times. We will take periodic “mask breaks” where campers may remove their masks in safe spaces where social distancing allows. We expect everyone to bring their own mask, as well as a backup mask. We will have disposable masks available if needed.
Masks must meet the following standards:
  • Fits snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • Completely covers the nose and mouth
  • Is secured with ties or an ear loop
  • Includes multiple layers of fabric, preferably cotton. Polyester alone is insufficient
  • Has no vents or valves
  • Allows for breathing without restriction
  • Is not a bandana, gaiter, or scarf
  • Can be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to the shape
Basketballs:
Each camper will be required to bring their own basketball or purchase one at camp. Each ball must be labeled with the campers name.

Hand Washing & Sanitizing:
There will be an emphasis on hygiene throughout the camp session. We will encourage hand washing throughout the camp day and will have sanitizer readily available.

Daily Attestation:
Prior to each camp day, staff and campers will attest that they are healthy and do not show any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. If any symptoms are present, staff and campers will not attend camp.

Facility Sanitization:
All areas of the facility will be cleaned using appropriate EPA approved material. These areas will be cleaned multiple times throughout the day.

All of the above is subject to change based upon the current national, state, and local guidelines that are offered to us at the time of camp opening. We will keep an open line of communication as we receive more information. Further details regarding specifics of play and camp structure will be provided at a later date.
