Hooptown Summer 2020 Camp COVID-19 Impact

Update June 29, 2020

Updated June 29th

Dear Hooptown Families,

Thank you for your continued patience and support of Hooptown. As we send out this latest update, we find ourselves still in Phase 2 of the Massachusetts reopening guidelines. We do not anticipate Phase 3 guidelines being released until July 6th, even though we had hoped the Governor would have released this information by now

With a heavy heart, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Girls Session that was scheduled to start on July 6th.  We feel that under the protocols that are currently in place we would not be able to run our traditional camp to the fullest capacity and we do not want to provide a less than desirable experience for your children.
We have established the following options as a result of this cancellation:

1.Transfer your tuition from this session to the Girls Session, the Week of August 3-7.

2. Receive a full transferable camp credit for the Summer of 2021, as well as any future summer. Families with these credits will have PRIORITY registration (January 4 - February 1) to ensure that they can register for the week/s that work best for their family. In addition, no price increases will be applied.

3.Receive a full refund. Refunds will be issued to the same payment method used.

Please email coachfaz@hooptowncamp.com by July 1st with your decision from the above options. It is our ultimate goal to find a way for our children to participate, stay active, and stay connected with our communities, while most importantly, staying safe. We will continue to monitorState and Town recommendations for reopening and will update you as soon as possible.

                                                           Covid 19 Impact  Updated June 15, 2020

Dear Hooptown Family,
As the state of Massachusetts released Phase 2 recommendations, we continue to adapt and prepare for Hooptown 2020. We remain hopeful with the Phase 2 changes and predicted Phase 3 development, releasing on June 27th,  we will be able to move forward with Hooptown this summer.

With that being said, Phase 2 entails certain restrictions that will make running camp challenging and yield a less than desirable experience for your children. Girls Week 1, June 22-26, falls within Phase 2 guidelines. Due to this, we will be moving Girls Week 1 to August 3-7. If this change is not feasible for your family, please email us with your choice of one of the following two options below. Otherwise, we will transfer your registration and no further action is needed.

1. Receive a full transferable camp credit for the Summer of 2021, as well as any future summer
*** This option would greatly help out our program and would be much appreciated.
Families with these credits will have PRIORITY registration (January 4 - February 1) to ensure that they can register for the week/s that work best for their family. In addition, no price increases will be applied.

2. Receive a full refund. Refunds will be issued to the same payment method used.

We appreciate your patience and support of Hooptown as we continue to wait on State and Town recommendations regarding summer camps for 2020. It is our ultimate goal to find a way for our children to participate, stay active, and stay connected with our communities, while most importantly, staying safe.

                                                              Covid 19 Impact  Updated May 21, 2020

I hope this update finds you and your families healthy and well. Given recent updates from the Governor’s office and our local leadership here in Andover, we remain hopeful that we can run Hooptown Summer 2020 camp sessions. Our goal continues to be able to “open our doors” in some capacity at the end of June.

With that being said, we are aware this time brings several worries and concerns for all. As always, parents/guardians will have the ultimate say regarding the safety of their child. Our credit or refund policy below will apply to those who decide not to send their child to camp.

We will continue to monitor all local, state and federal guidelines and will provide an update on our situation as soon as possible. As always, the safety and health of all campers and camp staff is our top priority and will be the core of any and all decisions. We will work with the leaders of our community in order to make the Hooptown Summer 2020 experience possible.

If we cannot run camp sessions, Coach Fazio, Coach Hibino and staff are hard at work exploring different possibilities, including Virtual Workouts and Private Training sessions for individuals and/or small groups.

We thank you for your continued patience, support and understanding while we wait for further guidance from the Governor’s office and the Town of Andover for what programs we will be able to provide this summer.

Please see below for our update from May 1, 2020 in regards to our plan for credits and refunds.

                                                                                     Covid-19  Impact Update May 1, 2020

In the unfortunate event that we cannot run Hooptown Summer 2020 camp sessions, we have developed the following
contingency plan:

1. Campers currently registered for Summer 2020 will receive a full transferable camp credit for the Summer of 2021, as well as any future summer.

All refunds will not be
issued until a final decision has been made in regards to our Summer 2020 camp sessions

3. Hooptown will be offering Interactive Virtual Clinics with Coach Fazio and Coach Hibino (more details to follow)

The last few months have been difficult for everyone – As this would have been our 31st Summer of Hooptown, we assure you, Hooptown is not going anywhere. We will get through this in typical Hooptown fashion – as a TEAM.

As always, your continued support of Hooptown is greatly appreciated.
